Data Presentation and Discussion
Based on the
questions of the first and second researchers, investigating whether flashcard
and word list can help students vocabulary increase before and after the
experiment. Paired samples have shown that the post-test score of the
experimental group produces a value of 80.53. The statistical data is higher
than the pre-test score of the experimental group 60.00. However, in the
control group, the results of the paired-samples t-test showed that the
post-test score produced a value of 74.00. Statistically, the value is higher
than the pre-test 62.00 score. This finding shows that, both strategies can
help students in mastering vocabulary. Nevertheless, the experimental group
vocabulary mastered more quickly than the control group.
In the third question, the researcher investigated
student responses to the use of flashcards and word lists on vocabulary
learning. The results of interviews in the experimental group pay attention to
two aspects, namely: the benefits of a flashcard after a trial can affect
student interest. Before the trial, there were several students who were
interested in learning English. some students say that English is difficult to
understand. After the trial, the students were excited and motivated to learn
English.
Based on what I have explained above, that the control
group has a lower value than the experimental group. This shows that flashcards
can affect students in vocabulary learning. Therefore, for future teachers, you
can use flashcard media for learning English, besides bringing many benefits,
this flashcard is very easy to make and very efficient.
