Review Journal"METHODOLOGY"

         

                Today, I will review about research methodology in journal that I have already read.  The title is “Teaching Vocabuary Using Flashcard and Word List “ By Elsa Yusrika Sitompul.  This journal use quantitative research. Quantitative research is a method that investigates social problems using data in the form of numbers (values) or statements analyzed using statistical analysis.

METHODOLOGY

v  Research design

This research was chosen because of the nature of the research and based on the researcher's questions. This study is to examine the extent to which the use of flashcards and word lists can master students' vocabulary. Using two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, the experiment uses flashcard media and controls using the word list.

v  Data collection procedures

First, trials to different classes from the experimental group and control to determine the validity, reliability which distinguishes the difficulty index from the items. Of the 50 questions, there are 25 valid numbers, can be used in the pre and post-test.

The first session, namely the pre-test was given to find out the mastery of vocabulary from both classes. During the week, both classes are taught the same lesson. At the end of teaching, both classes were tested post-test.

v  Data analysis

To answer researchers' questions SPSS software is used for data analysis.

1. Determine the average of each group in the pre-test and post-test using descriptive statistics.

2. To find differences in students from both groups in the post-test using the independent t-test

3. To compare differences before and after treatment in both groups using paired t-test.
